Raween Kanishka was born on 15 August 1991 in Kuliapitiya and had a younger brother and sister. Ravin Kanishka was educated at Madhya Maha Vidyalaya in Kuliapitiya and studied higher under the Department of Commerce. After completing A/L, he joined the Derana Dream Star Season 04 program. After winning the first runner-up in Derana Dream Star Season 04, Kanishka also participated in various reality television programs hosted by Derana TV Derana.
Among these, he was able to show his best talent in Derana Star Challenge Season 02 and Derana Star City Seasons 01 & 02.Kanishka formed a band called The Aryans in 2015, and he is the band’s lead singer. He released his first music video, “Dannawada Oya,” in 2014, which was nominated for the Most Popular Music Video Award at the 2015 Derana Music Video Awards.
